The inspiration behind our mission
Youth Gun Violence Programs was founded to provide young people with crucial access to gun violence prevention resources. While national gun violence rates have generally declined since the 1980s and 1990s, recent data indicates a concerning rise in gun violence among youth. Our programs are specifically designed to address this urgent issue, offering young individuals constructive alternatives and essential safety knowledge to prevent further escalation. The driving force behind Youth Gun Violence Programs is deeply personal. Coming from a family of lawyers, I frequently heard about cases that could have been entirely avoided if vital prevention programs were available and if youth had stronger connections within their communities. We are firm believers that every young person deserves the chance to flourish in a secure and supportive environment.
